Where it all began...
I was born and raised in Ft. Worth, Texas. Yes this blonde hair is natural, I got it from my mama ;). And yes, I am a strong southern lonestar gal!
I have been moving and shaking even before my first dance class. When I took my first dance class I loved the feeling of joy and accomplishment dance brought me. Dancing has been my magical key, unlocking so many doors and opening the world to me.
I grew up a competition dancer. Then in high school, because I live in Texas, I became captain of the drill team. Drill team is a dance team for those who aren't familiar with this Texas creation. Dance had already started opening the world for me in high school. I got to go to Hawaii, to L.A., and to New York to perform in the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade.
I have been dancing all my life, and people thought I was crazy for wanting to make a living at it. I remember my high school counselor not taking me seriously when they asked what I wanted to do in life and I replied "I want to dance." Not only did I go to college for it, graduating with a Bachelors in Fine Arts, but I have made a career of it.
My first grand adventure and biggest leap I took was right out of college. I accepted a performing job in a show on the island of Guam. Hopping from one side of the world to the other. That is where my inner gypsy began to thrive. Hiking to waterfalls, learning to scuba dive, coming across old WW2 bunkers and missiles, and learning about the Chamorro people. Next, I got to perform on cruise ships traveling all over the South Pacific. Hiking mountains in New Zealand, scuba diving the Great Barrier reef in Australia, swimming with stingrays in Tahiti, visiting temples in Thailand, feeding elephants in Bali, and so many other great life experiences.
After spending years overseas, I missed home and decided to find work back in the states. Auditions are part of the life of a performer. Even in this somewhat stressful endeavor, I found a way to have some fun adventures. As I traveled to these auditions I took time to wander around the cities, eat at the local eateries, and even make some friends.
My latest dance key unlocked the door to Florida, where I work for the magical mouse. In the land of sunshine, there are many adventures to be had. From beaches to springs to Florida's rich history. I have had some incredible adventures here and look forward to having many more!
